SUMMARY:Music Therapy: Beyond Music Course
DESCRIPTION:Discover Healing Through Music with “Beyond Music” This Fall!\nWe are thrilled to offer the “Beyond Music” group once again at the Big Red Barn Retreat (BRBR) starting in October. This music therapy course offers veterans and first responders a chance to explore music for their continued well-being at home. Laura Theismann\, MT-BC\, and Lenny Hyland (USAF\, ret.) will lead this group.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nOver 8 weeks\, participants will engage in various music-based activities designed to deepen their understanding of music and self-care\, build resiliency\, and grow through experiences that may still be impacting their lives. No musical skills are required to join.  This class will be held on Thursdays from 12-2pm beginning in early October.

SUMMARY:Healing Lens Photography Course
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Healing Lens program at BRBR—a bi-monthly drop-in group led by Josh Fulton\, a professional photographer\, and Army Veteran. Our mission is to introduce military/veterans to photography as a visual language. Participants can embrace photography as a wellness practice\, enhancing their journey with journaling and meditation\, integral components of Healing Lens. Each session includes a unique photographic assignment\, followed by image analysis in the subsequent class. Explore the emotive power of photography\, the calming influence on mindfulness\, and receive collaborative creative support in our vibrant community. \nOur workshops are less about learning technical photography and more about getting in touch with how we see and interpret the world around us.
