Mindful Movement Yoga with Jessica Smith

November 18 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

We will be hosting this special Mindful Movement Yoga in-studio at The Big Red Barn Retreat. Veterans, Active-Duty service members, First Responders, and IMMEDIATE family members welcome!  Registration link will post on the Friday before Class.  The registration link will expire at 3:00 PM on the day of the class.

Upon student arrival for classes
-Prior to arrival, participant must register in-advance for the class
-Remove shoes on porch or in lobby, placing them and personal belongings in provided bin provided at check in. 
-Wash hands or use hand sanitizer before entering yoga room.
-Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own mat. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. No other props will be allowed.
-Please use a bathroom before coming to studio. If you do need to use our bathroom, please follow the bathroom protocol after use.

In this class the emphasis will be on grounding, breath awareness, mindful movement, and meditation and will utilize a combination of Mindful Resilience methods from the Veterans Yoga Project as well as awareness of core sensations to apply Universal Yoga Principles learned from Mind Body Solutions to adapt yoga for any body. The focus is on giving the practitioner self regulation strategies that can be used to overcome the effects of chronic stress, pain, and PTSD. These strategies have been reported to help veterans and active duty service members to sleep better, experience less anger, anxiety and depression, and generally help cope with the various symptoms of PTSD.
