YOGA & TAI CHI

Yoga and tai chi are both low-impact forms of exercise that  consists of a series of breath practices with body movement and meditation to attain deep focus and a relaxed state.

A regular practice of yoga and tai chi help improve your balance, flexibility, strength, mobility, mood, quality of life, range of motion, reflexes, and thinking skills. They also reduce pain and your risk of falls.

Classes are open to active-duty service members, veterans, first responders, and their family members.

YOGA & TAI CHI SCHEDULE

Registration is NOT required at this time. Please note location and time of classes. Arrive at least 10 minutes and sign in before class time to participate.

MONDAY

CLASS:  Mindful Movement

TIME: 6:30PM – 7:30PM

TEACHER:  Jessica 

DESCRIPTION: Class focuses on breath awareness, mindful movement, and meditation

TUESDAY

CLASS:  iREST Nidra

TIME: 5:30PM – 6:30PM

TEACHER:  Vicki 

DESCRIPTION: Class is a deep conscious rest practive for anyone that has endured trauma

WEDNESDAY

CLASS:  Tai Chi

TIME: 5:30PM – 6:30PM

TEACHER:  Bill 

DESCRIPTION: Class focuses on Movement Control, Weight Transference and Integration of Mind and Body

THURSDAY

CLASS:  Flow & Restore

TIME: 5:30PM – 6:30PM

TEACHER:  Liza

DESCRIPTION: Class is a Hatha based yoga class that includes traditional asana postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques

Location: Cabin Garage (top floor) at 830 Lorick Road, Blythewood, SC, 29016

WHAT TO EXPECT

We look forward to welcoming you to our new studio! The BRBR’s yoga and tai chi classes are all held in the log cabin garage (located next to the Main Log Cabin at 830 Lorick Road, Blythewood, SC, 29016). When you arrive, please park near the garden or in front of the log cabin garage. Enter the log cabin through the side door and then head upstairs to the second floor. Plan to arrive a little early so that you can sign in with the instructor and settle in for a few moments before class begins.

All materials are provided, including mats. However, if you have a mat of your own that you’d prefer to use, please bring it with you. For your comfort and ease, please consider wearing movement-conducive clothing that provides for both range and coverage.
